Stoked to get an other shot run with Surfer Magazine.  This month is their photo annual.  Ry Craike in the afternoon glow.  This is a pretty special shot to me.  It can be very difficult to hit that spot and i have been trying to get a really good under the rail shot for a long time with mixed results.  This is my best one to date.  I can't wait for some More swell and some more opportunities to try and get shots like this one!!!

BROWN BROTHERS PUNTS

Summer is truly here and the bay is going to cop a flogging.  The swells have stopped and the wind is strong and foul.  At least the southerly wind is good for one thing.  Whipping in to little ramps at the bay.

A few Months ago Ry Craike and Dino Adrian and my self we invited to go on the Sound Wave Tour around Australia with Metallica, and we had planned to shoot every thing for an episode of "Ry Craike's Fish out of Water".   Their good mate Repo (photographer) is good friends with Rob Trujillo and Kirk Hammet who are keen surfers.  Ry and Dino had the pleasure of taking the boys surfing as they traveled around Australia, and go to every concert along the way.  Its was an amazing experience and i feel privileged to have experience a bit of the rock star life style!!!  What an amazing trip it was.   The footage should be released next year.  Thanks again Metallica!!!!!!  You guys are amazing!!!!!

This wave has to be one of my Favourite to shoot. It has to be the most mechanical waves I have ever seen.  And the colours that this spot can produce are amazing.  The Golden Ledge always seems to produce something sic!!!

Being a surf photographer is more that just capturing a surfer on a wave.  It is more about finding that spot in the wave that will give the viewer the feeling that they are right there in the moment with the surfer.  I get inspired by people that I see pushing the limits and getting those really special shots.  Throw the safety shot away and go for something different.  Something that hopefully will inspire some one else.  In my eyes looking out of the barrel has to be one of the most amazing things about surfing and I cant get enough of it.
